Fisheries Minister and United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera said a new committee representing all parties would be set up to make a final decision on if a referendum on the new constitution was neccessary.

Addressing a public meeting yesterday, he also said the committee would also decide on if parts of the constitution needed replacing or if the entire constitution needed to be replaced.

Furthermore, the Fisheries Minister said the local government election would be held under the new electoral system.
