Minister Rajitha Senaratne says the government has taken required measures to bring down cost of living and inflation by the end of this year. A slight increase in inflation and cost of living is apparent at present. However, it will be gradually decreased by the end of the year due to pragmatic measures taken by the government.
At the cabinet press briefing held in Colombo yesterday, the minister said that the GSP tax concession will come into effect again by May this year. The UN Human Rights council has also granted a period two years time to gradually implement its human rights resolutions. Accordingly, a report in this connection will be submitted to the UN Human rights council by 2019. There will be no action taken against the war heroes in Sri Lanka. There will be no judicial process headed by foreign judges as well. Addressing the media minister Gayantha Karunatilleke said public interest on the right to information act is increasing day by day.
