United People's Freedom Alliance parliamentarian Dullas Allahaperuma said yesterday the Joint Opposition had decided to boycott any media owned by those behind the Treasury Bond issue.
He was referring to Perpetual Treasuries which is implicated in the Treasury Bond issue for having made unprecedented gains. Perpetual Treasuries is allegedly owned by former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendra 's son-in-law Arjun Aloysious.
Perpetual Treasuries is said to have begun a newspaper called 'Janayugaya'. The JO said they would boycott all activities by Janayugaya and refrain from giving interviews.
Allahaperuma said the Joint Opposition had made the decision to boycott the new paper as a matter of principle.
