Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila has called for President Maithripala Sirisena to hold a national economic summit to seek solutions to the economic difficulties in the country.
At a press conference in Colombo yesterday Gammanpila said the economic summit should be held with the participation of businessmen, political leaders, academics and other intellectuals capable of taking the country forward.
He further said that his party had already initiated conversation within the Joint Opposition on the matter and would give such a national summit it's fullest support.
