Attitudinal Change Needed To Develop As A Country: President

Everyone needs to work unitedly today to achieve common goals and objectives for the future of our country and nation instead of answering and chasing allegations and criticisms, President Maithripala Sirisena said.

He made these remarks participating at the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Sustain Lanka’ National Celebration held at the BMICH, yesterday (31st March).

Addressing the gathering, the President said that the core foundation of development is to stand on one’s own feet, and further said that every country in the world has achieved their development goals with self-esteem and rising on their own strength.

He also said that to develop as a country we need an attitudinal change and further said that we should move forward as a country which achieved Sustainable Development Goals and Millennium Development Goals.

‘Sustain Lanka’ National Celebration, organized in parallel to the three-year plan for a Toxin Free Nation, a concept of President Maithripala Sirisena and in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals announced by the United Nations, is held from March 31st to April 04th at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall.
