National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa, who was admitted to the National Hospital yesterday, has ended his nine-day fast.
UPFA MP Jayantha Samaraweera confirmed that the Parliamentaran had ended his hunger strike.
However, Weerawansa continues to remain in the Colombo National Hospital.
It is still not clear as to why Weerawansa ended his hunger strike as there is no assurance that the MP will receive bail on April 03, at the next hearing of his case.
MP Weerawansa who is being held on charges he caused the government a loss of Rs. 91 million by misusing state- owned vehicles, began a hunger strike in protest of the rejection of his bail application.
