Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando is currently studying cyber security in the UK, Asian Mirror reliably learns.
The Digital Infrastructure Minister had previously promised to create a ‘digital democracy’ in Sri Lanka, with cyber security.
“I believe that regulators, operators, academics, vendors in communication and IT industries need to work together towards our common goal of creating a society of digital democracy that is protected by cyber security,” he said at the Cyber Security Summit in 2015.
Cyber crime in Sri Lanka is on the increase with public complaints of phishing, violation of privacy, scams financial fraud and malicious software issues.
