Next Voluntary Reparation Of Tamil Refugees In India, In April

The next voluntary reparation of Sri Lanka Tamils from India will be on April 6, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) said today.

Twenty families will be returning, the UNHCR said – 47 persons in all.

There are 112 refugee camps in Tamil Nadu, India – home to Sri Lankan Tamil refugees fleeing the war.

With the end of the war in 2009, families have been voluntarily returning to Sri Lanka, facilitated by the UNHRC.

The UNHRC also monitors the status of the refugees after their return.
