The Police had decided to transfer 300 officers out of the Ministerial Security Division (MSD).
Highly placed police sources said, although there officers were attached to the MSD, they did not have specific duties.
They have bene transferred out to various Police stations across the country, they also added.
Nearly 200 transfers, they said, would come into effect from April 01.
Nearly 1300 officers are currently functioning attached to the MSD..
The MSD is a specialized unit for VIP security and their main function is to provide security to Parliamentarians and other important figures.
