National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa has continued his fast-unto-death campaign for the third day and was admitted to the prison hospital this morning.
Weerawansa is in custody for the alleged misuse of government vehicles.
He is protesting the rejection of his bail application last week.
Meanwhile his sixteen year-old daughter was also admitted to hospital last week because of mental duress over her father's imprisonment.
Former Minister Weeraewansa is alleged to have caused the government a loss of 91 million rupees.
