The Colombo Additional Magistrate’s Court has released the Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera on a surety bail of 100,000 rupees after recalling the arrest warrant issue for his arrest. He had been summoned to court over the case of noise pollution using public addressing systems at the Alan Methiniyaramaya Temple in Polhengoda.

Warrants were issued for his arrest as he did not consecutively appear in Courts on two occasions.
The Ven. Dhammaloka Thera said that he could not appear in Courts on the day of the hearing as he had to be present in a case taken up in the Colombo High Court. Colombo Additional Magistrate Dulani Amarasinghe said that the judiciary should be apprised of such an instance. The hearing was put off for the 05th of next month.
