The Colombo Chief Magistrate recalled a warrant issued against Power and Energy Ministry Secretary Dr. Suren Batagoda today, after it was confirmed that notices on the Ministry Secretary were sent to the wrong ministry.

Lawyers appearing on behalf of Dr. Batagoda said notices had been sent to the Ministry of Finance and Planning whereas Dr. Batagoda was serving as the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy Secretary.

The mistake had come about as Dr. Batagoda was a senior official at the Ministry of Finance and Planning while Sarana Gunawardena was serving as the Chairman of National Lotteries Board in 2006, 2007, it was revealed.
