The investigation into journalist Keith Noyahr's abduction and assault has hit a snag with the journalist's reluctance to attend the investigation parade, highly placed Police sources said. 

A highly placed police source said if the journalist failed to attend the identification parade, the case would be terminated, at some point. 

Several Army officers, who were previously attached to the intelligence wing, have been remanded over the abduction of the journalist in May, 2008. 

The CID informed court yesterday that a special unit operating under former Army intelligence chief retired Major General Kapila Hendawitharana, carried out the attack. Former Army Commander Sarah Fonseka, the Army chief at the time of the attack. had told the CID that he was not aware of the functioning of the group.

Noyahr left the country, with his family, a few days after the attack and settled down in Australia.
