The current Sri Lanka Cricket administration is led by Thilanga Sumathipala, a ruling party MP and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
"Well it's happened... told that bangladesh will be better than us if we continue the way when I became the sports minister.... we took bold decisions then.... time for SLC officials and their massive egos to have a rethink," Dissanayake said, in a Facebook post, a short while ago.
Today's victory was Bangladesh's first test victory against Sri Lanka, in the country's 17 year test history.
Dissanayake was appointed the Sports Minister soon after President Maithripala Sirisena's ascension to power. However, he was replaced by Dayasiri Jayasekera after the Parliamentary election, in August, 2015.
While functioning as the Sports Minister, Dissanayake ran into problems with the Sri Lanka Cricket Administration and the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Dissanayake, during his tenure, appointed a nine-member interim committee, headed by former test opener Sidath Wettimuny, to run the cricket administration from April , 2015. Wettimuny's interim committee was later replaced by the new board of officials of Sri Lanka Cricket, led by Thilanga Sumathipala.
