The former Sri Lankan Ambassador to US Jaliya Wickremasuriya who is in remand for sometimes has been released on bail under strict conditions.

Jaliya Wickremasuriya was earlier arrested due to an allegation of misappropriation of funds and malpractices during the previous regime. Taking into consideration of his health condition, the court has decided to grant bail with 50,000 rupees and two sureties of rupees one million each.
