Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has filed his preliminary objections to the case filed against him by the Bribery Commission.
The Bribery Commission had filed against the former Defence Secretary, alleging that he caused losses of Rs.11.4 billion to the government, by permitting Avant-Garde Maritime Services (Pvt.) Ltd. to operate a floating armoury.
In his submission the former Defence Secretary alleged that the case had been filed against him without the consent of the Bribery Commission.
Counsel appearing for the Bribery Commission however submitted that the case had been filed with the consent of the Bribery Commission.
