Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Treasury bond issue.
The former Central Bank Governor is alleged to have acted in the interested of primary dealer Perpetual Treasuries during the controversial bond auction.
Perpetual Treasuries is allegedly owned by the former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran’s son-in-law Arjun Aloysius.
The Presidential Commission to inquire in the bond issuance was appointed on January 27.
Supreme Court Judges Kankanithanthri T. Chitrasiri, Prasanna Sujeewa Jayawardena and former Deputy Auditor General Kandasamy Velupillai make up the commission.
This is the fourth time the former Central Bank Governor was called before the Presidential Commission.
