Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran has appeared for the second time before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to look into the Central Bank Treasury bond issue.
The Former Governor is alleged to have used his influence during the bond auction, to benefit Perpetual Treasuries – a company allegedly owned by his son-in-law Arjun Aloysius.
President Sirisena, on January 27, appointed a Commission to inquire into the bond issue.
The Commission is made up of Supreme Court Judges Kankanithanthri T. Chitrasiri, Prasanna Sujeewa Jayawardena and former Deputy Auditor General Kandasamy Velupillai.
The Commission began hearings on February 6.
