The Wathupitiwala Base Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been temporarily shut down because of a germ that has spread.

Wathupitiwala Base Hospital Director Dr. Sisira Wijeysundara said the hospital ICU would be closed for three days until sterilisation is complete.

He said the Hospital ICU could be re-opened on Sunday (12) or Monday (13).
