Health Minister Requests All Private Hospitals To Hand Over Data On Patients With Infectious Diseases

Health Minister, Rajitha Senarathne has requested all private hospitals to hand over data regarding the number of patients with infectious diseases that have been recorded. The information will be sourced via the private health services regulatory council.

Senaratne stated that the reports will help identify, treat and prevent the spreading, of viruses. The minister further highlighted that such data will help to prevent spreading of communicable diseases. The Minister has given the order in consequent to an incident happened in Cheenakotuwa area of Beruwala where relevant information had not been released by the private hospitals regarding the patients.
