President Maithripala Sirisena, speaking to Sri Lankans living in Indonesia at the Sri Lankan Embassy yesterday, asked the expatriates not to be misled by false propaganda on the government carried on certain websites.
The President emphasised that Sri Lanka would develop, even while safeguarding freedom and independence.
“The program of the current government is to build brotherhood and coexistence among people to avoid another war in the future by establishing permanent peace. The government’s program has been accepted by the whole world. The development program of the country will be expedited with the help of all those countries”, he said.
The President is currently in Indonesia to attend the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Leaders' Summit.
He is also on the first state visit to Indonesia in 40 years.
