ENT Surgeon Dr. R. P. Dayasena, at a press conference at the Colombo National Hospital yesterday, said teachers should refrain from boxing children’s ears, as it was harmful.

The ENT surgeon said children’s eardrums could be ruptured as a result of the boxing and as such it was a dangerous punishment to impose on children, or any one else.
