Minister of Health, Rajitha Senarathne stated that he was able to eliminate the mafia menace on dictating prices of the drugs and medicines in the competitive market. He further said the government has introduced a mechanism to bring down the prices of the drugs in a systematic manner.

This will help the common public in a better way. The mechanism also helped the government to save large amount of funds. Minister Rajitha Senarathne revealed this information at a media conference held yesterday to brief the cabinet decisions. He further said the necessary medicines and drugs will be supplied to cancer hospital for lifetime. The eye lenses and stents will be provided free of charge to the patients.
