Statement Of Corporate Interest For Important Public Enterprises

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has proposed the concept of  ‘statement of intent’ for strategically important public enterprises, to facilitate and encourage independence, instead of dependence on the Treasury.

Accordingly, the proposal to have statements of interest applied to the Ceylon Electricity Board, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Airport and Aviation Services Ltd., and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
