SAITM CEO Relieved From Duties Amid Bogus Shooting Controversy

February 28, 2017

The South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) announced a short while ago that its CEO Sameera Senaratne has been relieved from duties.

The announcement came just hours after the Police uncovered that the shooting incident involving him was merely a drama.

It has now been revealed that the Local Government politician who is under investigation over the bogus shooting incident is a close friend of Senaratne.

The Police are investigating whether the 'shooting drama' was masterminded by Senaratne himself.

"If the Police establish Senaratne's link to the incident, he will certainly be arrested," a highly placed Police source told Asian Mirror.

A few weeks ago, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) alleged that Senaratne failed to complete his medical degree. They said despite his failure to complete his medical degree, he functioned as the head of an institution awarding medical degrees.
