The prevailing showery weather is expected to continue and enhance during next few days - particularly during 1st and 2nd March, the Meteorological Department said.

It said cloudy skies and showers or thundershowers could be expected at times over most parts of the country.

Fairly heavy showers (above 50mm) are also likely at some places, especially in the Eastern, Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, the Meteorological Department said.

It added there may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers and asked the public to take adequate precautions to minimise the damages caused by lightning.
