UNP Parliamentarian Chathura Senaratne is to publish his autobiography soon, sources close to him said.
Chathura Senaratne, the son of Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne, was involved in the formation of the Pivithuru Hetak movement, led by Athuraliye Rathana Thera, which supported the election campaign of President Maithripala Sirisena in January, 2015.
With this book, Senaratne will be the youngest politician in Sri Lanka to publish his autobiography.
Senaratne made headlines this month when he publicly claimed that he was involved in Vijaya Kumaratunga's political campaign, as a toddler. He came under severe criticism on social media platforms for his remarks which seemed like outrageous lies.
He said he first took part in the 'banned May Day rally' in 1987, along with political heavyweights such as Kumaratunga. However, at the time the 'Banned May Day' rally took place Senaratne was only five years old.
In a recent Facebook live interview with the BBC Sandeshaya, Senaratne said he conducted a rally at his pre-school in support of Vijaya Kumaratunga, in 1986.
Sources close to Senaratne said, in his autobiography, the young politician will reveal his political experiences since the late 80s. They also added that his role in the election campaign of President Maithripala Sirisena would also be described in the book.
An old boy of Ananda College, Senaratne joined the Colombo Medical Faculty, but failed to complete his degree.
