Fifteen Peradeniya University students were arrested at a house in Galaha this morning, during a Police raid.
Police said they had received information that a group of juniors was being ragged, from university authorities, who had received a tip-off.
The raid was conducted at around 1 a.m. and the fifteen perpetrators – seniors of the faculty of Agriculture – arrested.
Eight juniors on whom the ragging was inflicted were taken to the Peradeniya Hospital.
The arrested students were produced before the Kandy Magistrate Court and remanded till March 2.
