Parliamentarian Prof. Aashu Marasinghe says the government’s policy is to confirm the right of education ,while strengthening the privilege of free education.

He further said, the government will prepare a clear plan to strengthen Freedom of Education.

Both university education and vocational education will be up graded. The number of university admissions will be increased up to 50 per year by 2025.

New nursing and technical faculties will be set up in Colombo university.

Another medical faculty will be established in Moratuwa university.

He also pointed out the need to start more private universities.
