Minister Harin Fernando says the government has not spent any amount of money on Project Loon which was implemented by Google in Sri Lanka. He added that the project helps to provide internet to the people living in rural and remote areas by balloons.

The pilot project will be implemented in the country soon. The Minister said that an MOU has been signed in this regard. He was speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today. A cabinet paper has been submitted to facilitate the Google project. The government will seek the advice of Attorney General Department in this regard.
