‘Duplicate Bandu’ film director Udayakantha Warnasuriya was ordered released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara yesterday.

He was held for allegedly making a film copying the manner, voice and performances of veteran film actor Bandu Samarasinghe, using ‘Duplicate Bandu’ - Bindu Bothalegama.

A charge sheet was filed under the Intellectual Property Act by the Colombo Crimes Division, pursuant to a complaint made by comedy film actor Bandu Samarasinghe.

Warnasuriya and film producer Chaminda Kumara Rajasinghe were released on a surety bail of Rs.10, 000 each.
