Sri Lankan middle order batsman Dhananjaya de Silva has been named the captain of the Sri Lanka A cricket team for the series with England. 

The series starts on February 17. 

De silva's overall performance was mediocre during the Sri Lankan national cricket team's recently concluded tour to South Africa. He was dropped from the national team for the subsequent tour to Australia for a T20 series. 

Opening batsman of the Sri Lankan national test team Dimuth has also been included in the Sri Lanka A team. 

Other players are as follows; 

Sandun Weerakkody, Charith Asalanka, Roshene Silva, Lahiru Gamage, Kasun Rajitha, Ron Chandraguptha,Kasun Madusanka, Asitha Fernando, Dilruwan Perera, Amila Apondu, Jeffrey Vandersay and Malinga Pushpakumara.

Former national player Avishka Gunawardena will be the head coach of the Sri Lankan A team during the tour.
