President Maithripala Sirisena is to appoint a committee of experts to consult on the controversy surrounding the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM).

The President on his official twitter page mentioned that the expert committee is expected to consult all parties and advise the government on further steps regarding SAITM.

President Sirisena engaged in a special discussion with members of the Government Medical Officers Association this morning at the Presidential Secretariat.

During the meeting the GMOA and the Sri Lanka Dental Association presented their proposals regarding the SATIM controversy.
