China To Organize Major Buddhist International Forum In Sri Lanka

The Chinese government extends fullest support to organize a major Buddhist international forum in Sri Lanka. The Chinese Ambassador Liu Shihan made this statement at a function to commemorate 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Sri Lanka. The function was held at the Torrington square. Speaking at the function speaker Karu Jayasuriya said Sri Lanka receives many benefits through the trade agreements signed with Chinese government to export rubber products.

The Chinese Ambassador pointed out that since China and Sri Lanka established diplomatic relations 60 years ago, the bilateral ties have stood the test of an ever-changing international situation and achieved a healthy and smooth development. The Chinese President appreciates Sri Lanka for its active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.

He says that he will work with Sri Lanka to consolidate political mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation. China will also deepen people-to-people friendship between the two countries.
