Shashi Weerawansa's Forged Documents Case Fixed For Trial

The case filed against Shashi Weerawansa, wife of former Minister, MP Wimal Weerawansa, for obtaining a passport by producing forged documents was fixed for trial today.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara fixed May 25, 30 and 31 for the trial and also summoned three witnesses for the inquiry to appear on trial dates.

Shashi Weerawansa was arrested over the charge of obtaining diplomatic and general passports illegally.

She had allegedly submitted birth certificate with forged names and dates of birth to obtain those passports.
