Police and Forensic Science University In Sri Lanka Soon

Law and Order and Southern Development Minister Sagala Ratnayaka said that the paper to establish a Police and Forensic Science University would be presented to Cabinet soon.

He made these comments while inspecting land for the proposed University at Attidiya, yesterday.  

Minister Ratnayaka said the government had decided to establish the University to provide an opportunity for people in the Police field to study further.

He said additionally, students from outside the forces who wanted to learn about Forensic Science could enroll, as well as foreign students.

Minister Ratnayaka said the government was also looking at the possibility of linking the Police and Forensic Science University with a foreign establishment.

Children of the Police and tri-force members will also be given the opportunity to study at this university, the Law and Order Minister said.

He said former Inspector General of Police M.K. Illangakoon has been made head of the committee appointed to establish the university to which a Cabinet paper is pending.
