The Cabinet Sub-Committee on the Cost of Living has imposed a maximum retail price on imported Samba and Nadu rice varieties.

 The Sub-Committee said that having considered market prices, the decision was made to impose a ceiling to afford immediate relief to the people.

Accordingly, a maximum retail price of Rs. 80 per kilogramme was imposed on Samba rice, while a maximum retail price of Rs. 70 per kilogramme was imposed on Nadu.
