MR’s Civic Rights Not At Risk Says Rajitha

February 06, 2017

Joint Cabinet Spokesman Minister Rajitha Senarathne says the government has no intention of depriving the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa of his civic rights.

Addressing a meeting at Health Ministry he said the speculations in this regard are hoax.

The Minister reiterated that the judiciary system in the country was totally independent and no one could interfere with the judiciary.

He further added the delaying of inquiries into some corruption cases is a dilemma to him.

" The inquiries into ‘Mig deal’  and the Dubai Bank accounts, the assassination of Ruggerite Waseem Thajudeen should be continued uninterruptedly," Senaratne said.

He also said some government officials were also responsible for the inaction.
