Ministry Of Foreign Affairs' Consular Affairs Division Moves To New Premises

The Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presently on the 3rd floor of the BOI Building at No.14, Sir Baron Jayathilake Mawatha in Fort, will be relocated to the 2nd floor of the Ceylinco Building at No. 69, Janadhipathi Mawatha, Colombo 01 with effect from today (Feb. 6).

Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera will open the new premised today, and also launch a state-of-the-art electronic Document Attestation System (e-DAS) that will reduce processing time, with a quick verification process linked in real-time with Sri Lanka Missions and Consulates abroad, as well as other government institutions.

 

An online system for appointments and payments will also be in place at the new premise.

The new premise will be open to the public with effect from Tuesday (Feb. 7). The Consular Affairs Division said however, that to ensure an uninterrupted service to the public, consular services would continued at BOI building, as well, until the transition is complete.
