UPFA General Secretary and Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Mahinda Amaraweera noted that a mini cabinet reshuffle is on the horizon as general public and government members expecting a change in certain cabinet portfolios was necessary.
Addressing a media briefing he pointed out that it is up to President Maithripala Sirisena to decide when it would take place. When asked whether it is due before the New Year, the minister neither denied nor confirmed it.
Meanwhile Thalatha Athukorala, Minister of Foreign Employment thsy the President and the Prime Minister should consider a cabinet reshuffle promptly.
Minister Athukorala said that she was informed of an impending cabinet reshuffle addressing media.
Minister further stated the move to reshuffle the cabinet comes at a vital time and it will be welcomed by a majority.
