Sri Lankan American Appointed As Deputy Chief Of Staff Of Leading Senator

United States Senator Kamala Harris has named longtime Senate aide, a Sri Lankan American, Rohini Kosoglu as her deputy chief of staff on , December 29.

Kosoglu is a legislative and policy expert with more than a decade of Senate experience.

A graduate of the University of Michigan and The George Washington University, Kosoglu has served more than a decade in the U.S. Senate moving legislation and enacting policy.

Most recently, Kosoglu served as policy director and senior adviser to Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo. Prior to her time with Bennet, she was an aide to U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich.

During her time in the Senate, Kosoglu has managed legislative activity involving landmark laws, including the Affordable Care Act.

“I am excited to have Rohini, a leader with a strong knowledge of Congress and how to get things done, joining on our team,” said Harris in a statement.

“Now, more than ever, Californians are looking to their leaders in Washington, D.C., to protect our families and communities, and I look forward to working closely with Rohini as we fight for the ideals of our nation."
