Upul Chaminda Kumarasinghe, son-in-law and former private secretary of Sarath Kumara Gunaratna, former Deputy Minister of Fisheries was granted bail today.
He was granted bail on a bond of Rs. 25,000 and two sureties of one million rupees each by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara.
Kumarasinghe was remanded after he surrendered himself to court.
This was regarding the case filed by Police on the charge of misusing close to twelve million rupees out of state funds allocated for the Negombo lagoon development project against five suspects including Sarath Kumara Gunaratna.
Sarath Kumara Gunaratne was granted bail on January 20.
Both to be appear before court on March 10.
