Shashi Welgama, former SLTB Chairman and Nandana Priyantha Perera (Nandana Motors) who were arrested for alleged financial fraud were remanded further till February 6.

Lawyers again applied for bail and Colombo Additional Magistrate Aruna Buddhadasa stated that decision regarding bail applications will be announced on February 6.

Police informed that former chief financial manager of SLTB Sajeewa Vaidyathilake, the third suspect, is impossible to produce to the court as he is out of the country.

They are charged with misappropriation of 125 million Rupees in importing string leaves for the SLTB buses when Welgama was Chairman.

The bail application of Shashi Welgama was rejected by Colombo Additional Magistrate on December, 2016.
