The proposal by Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando to award the contract for ‘Lanka Government Network 2.0’ to Sri Lanka Telecom – as per the recommendation the Cabinet Appointed Negotiating Committee – was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday.

 ‘Lanka Government Network 2.0’ is a ‘next-generation’ initiative implemented by the government-owned Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) to provide all government institutions high-speed, secure Internet services.
