Chandima Weerakkody, Minister of Petroleum Resources stated a stock of fuel that was determined to be substandard has been suspended from being released to the market.
Addressing a media briefing Minister said 300,000 fuel barrels substandard will not be accepted and will be returned if the stock of fuel is not up to required standards.
Minister stated a stock of fuel that was discovered to be substandard has arrived in the country and is currently being re-examined.
Minister Weerakkody added substandard fuel will be not allowed local market.
