Former Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga is currently in UAE according to the information that have been received, the FCID today told court.

This was informed when the case over the alleged financial fraud during the MiG deal during the early years of the Mahinda Rajapaksa government was taken up at Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.

The FCID also said that investigations were being carried out on his bank accounts in Ukraine, Hong Kong and Switzerland.

The procedure over the interpol arrest warrant is now being carried out, the FCID further said.
