Hadigalle Wimalasara Thero of Jathika Hela Urumaya has requested former Jathika Hela Urumaya Parliamentarian Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera to give up Parliament membership.

Since the post was offered based on an agreement presented by party's Central Committee, Athuraliye Rathana Thera was informed to resign from the post, Wimalasara Thero further added.

Parliamentarian Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera recently announced that he would function as an independent MP.
