Weerawansa Speaks In Parliament: Accuses Kiriella Of Distributing 100 State Vehicles To Supporters

National Freedom Front leader wimal Weerawansa, who was remanded further till February 7 for the alleged misuse of state vehicles, was given permission to attend the debate on the COPE report on the Central Bank bond scam.

Speaking at the debate, Weerawansa lashed out at the government for hunting opposition figures while being inactive against alleged misdeeds of the members of the government.

He said that the FCID was not arresting MPs such as Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Ashu Marasinghe who are guilty of misusing state vehicles.

Meanwhile, around 100 vehicles have been given to supporters of Lakshman Kiriella throughout the Kandy District, he claimed.

Weerawansa also said that the government was influencing magistrates and other judicial officials to act against opposition members and insisted that he will fight on till the government is defeated.
