National Film Industry completes 70 years today. Sri Lankan film industry began with the “Kadaunu Poronduwa” creation in 21st of January 1947.
Completion of 45 years for the National Film Corporation also falls today.
The “Tharanganee” hall of the Corporation was declared open by the then Minister of Information and Broadcasting R.S. Perera on a day like today.
A ceremony to mark these occasions will be held at the National Film Corporation premises 3.30 pm today under the patronage of Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka.
Deputy Minister Karu Paranawithana, Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Parliamentary Reforms Nimal Bopage and artists representing the film industry will also attend in this ceremony.
