The CID has named a third suspect in the case regarding the alleged fraud of Rs 125 million from SLTB during the Rajapaksa government era when importing string leaves for buses.

Accordingly, former Chief Financial Manager of SLTB Chirantha Sanjeewa Waidyathilake has been named a suspect in the case.

Former SLTB Chairman Shashi Welgama and the dealer who was involved in the import of the string leaves are both in remand custody. Colombo Additional Magistrate J. Trotsky remanded them further till February 2.
